An off-duty D.C. police officer was seriously injured after being hit by a car Tuesday in Northeast Washington. Sgt. Grisel Reid of D.C. police reported that the incident occurred as the officer attempted to cross the street in the 500 block of Eastern Avenue NE around 1 a.m. The driver of the car pulled over after the crash. The unnamed officer was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Her name and more details on her condition have yet to be released.
