More than 100 tents cover George Washington University’s University Yard as pro-Palestine protestors enter their seventh day of encampment. Students are calling for the university to divest from companies selling weapons to Israel.

Some GOP leaders have called for an end to the protest and encouraged more police presence. Rep. Tim Burchett, R-TN, said in a post to social media, “I spoke with Chairman Comer about Metro PD refusing to help officials from George Washington University clear anti-semitic protestors off campus.” He continued, “Metro PD needs to do its job, and right now that includes protecting Jewish students at GW.”
