Prince George’s County Council voted to approve a resolution that would extend youth curfews throughout the county. The county previously established a youth curfew for the National Harbor. The curfews are a response to over 800 unaccompanied minors fighting and shoplifting at the National Harbor on April 20.

In a statement, Prince George’s County Council Chair Jolene Ivey said, “We want to quickly allow other commercial areas in the county to apply for a curfew zone if they feel it’s needed. We want to make sure we’re in partnership with the business community, law enforcement, and the residents of our county who have all been strong supporters of these measures.”
