D.C. residents may now apply for a marijuana card

The D.C. Department of Health has released a patient application form for medical marijuana. Applicants may fill one out with a doctor’s approval and purchase the now legal substance at soon-to-be open dispensaries.

“D.C.’s medical marijuana program is for people with serious illnesses,” says Scott Morgan, a spokesman for Capital City Care. “This opportunity means a great deal to them”.

Capital City Care is the first licensed dispensary in the district; it will open once applicants receive their medical marijuana card. Morgan says the dispensary could be open within the next two weeks depending on when applicants submit their forms.

The registrations fee for a medical marijuana card is $100.
