From 22nd street to Dupont Circle, the streets were lined with people in celebration of the 38th Annual Capital Pride Parade. The entire event spread across 17th street to the Thomas circle neighborhood.

Mayor Vincent Gray said the parade was the largest he had ever seen. More than 100,000 people were expected, and organizers estimated more than 170 floats, including six bands bands, attended the parade.

“It’s unbelievably great to be a part of civil rights, again,” Grand Marshall Lynda Carter said.
