Police say that a 50-year-old man is dead after lighting himself on fire at a Fairfax County gas station on Monday afternoon. The fire appeared to have been intentional, with police stating that the man purchased gasoline, poured it on himself and then proceeded to set himself on fire. “Citizens at the gas station located some water bottles and they poured water on top of the male, which extinguished the fire,” Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Willie Bailey said. The reason for the lighting is unknown.
