Not long after a heart attack that made her very grateful to be alive, Rosie O’Donnell has married again. The talk show host revealed the news on her blog on Monday that she and Michelle Rounds married on June 9. Originally, the women planned to wed this month, but after Rounds was diagnosed with desmoid tumors earlier this summer, a rare condition that can be life-threatening, they decided to marry before her surgery.
“We married in private before [Michelle’s] surgery, just the [two]of us,” wrote O’Donnell, who was previously married to Kelli Carpenter before they divorced in 2007. “When we r both well enough will have the wedding of r dreams surrounded by those we cherish.” O’Donnell and her new wife are using their union to raise awareness about desmoid tumors. O’Donnell, 50, has pledged to match all donations to Rounds’ Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation page and is selling paintings on eBay to raise money for the organization.
