Regis Philbin, iconic TV personality and co-host of “Live with Regis and Kelly”, has announced his plan to retire from the show on November 18. Philbin had stated his intention to leave back in January, but did not specify a date. The show will continue with Kelly Ripa, with no new co-host having yet been chosen.
Philbin, who recently celebrated his 80th birthday, has been the recipient of three Emmy Awards in his lifetime. In 2008, he was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
