MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry has apologized for jokes made on her show about a holiday card featuring Mitt Romney’s family.

The photograph depicting the 2012 Republican presidential candidates’ adopted African- American grandson became the topic of jokes made on her Sunday show.

One of her guests, actress Pia Glenn, sang “one of these things just isn’t the same.”  Comedian Dean Obeidallah, said it “sums up the diversity of the Republican party.”

Harris-Perry issued her apology Tuesday in saying her goal was to honor diversity before the segment took a negative turn.
