ABC’s “Good Morning America” news anchor has revealed that she is a lesbian, and First Lady Michelle Obama is rallying in her support.
News Anchor Robin Roberts announced that she has been in a 10-year relationship with another woman. Roberts wrote a Facebook post Sunday thanking her “longtime girlfriend” Amber Laign for supporting her through her battle with a blood and bone marrow disease called myelodysplastic syndrome.
Michelle Obama tweeted Monday: “I am so happy for you and Amber! You continue to make us all proud.”
Several other celebrities including Ellen DeGeneres and comedian Wanda Sykes wrote supportive messages on Twitter.
