On July 1st, musicians Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger were married in the south of France. July 1st is also a national holiday in Canada, their native country.
Canada Day is not the only reason they decided to tie the knot, however. The couple met while recording music in March, but officially began dating on July 1st. “We think it’s very cool that our anniversary will always be on Canada Day. We can’t wait to start our life together.” Nickleback’s Kroeger said.
Kroeger, 38, popped the question to Lavigne, 28 in August of last year.
