179th Oktoberfest kicks of in Munich

The beer flowed and the cups were raised as Germany commenced its 179th annual beer celebration known as Oktoberfest in Munich. In accordance with tradition, the mayor of Munich kicked off the celebration by filling the first keg of the 16 day long festival. It is anticipated that more than 6 million people from all over the globe will attend the festival. In addition to, of course, plenty of beer to go around, Oktoberfest usually includes plenty of meat, costumes, and beer gardens.
