According to Richard Branson, Academy Award-winning actress Kate Winslet helped to save his mother from a fire that ravaged his Caribbean island home. Winslet, the star of “Titanic,” was staying at the home along with 20 other people including Branson’s elderly mother.
Branson stated that no one was hurt and that the fire started following a tropical storm. He gave Winslet many thanks in his blog for “helping to cary my 90 year [old]mum out of the main house to safety.
