Iran to consider Saudi plot evidence

Iran says it is willing to look at the evidence that an Iranian man plotted to kill a Saudi Arabian ambassador to the United States. Foreign minister Ali Akbar Salehi said, “We are prepared to consider any issue, even if it is falsely created, with patience. We have asked the Unites States to provide us with the relevant information regarding this scenario.”

Iran has denied any involvement in the plot to kill Adel Al-Jubeir, the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the U.S. The alleged plot involved Manssor Arbabsiar, a naturalized U.S. citizen, and Gholam Shakuri, an Iran-based member of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The men are accused with conspiring to hire hit men from a Mexican drug cartel to bomb a restaurant where the ambassador would have been.
