In an investigation which began in December 2009 and targeting 500 people in the U.S. and around the world, the Justice Department reports that 72 people have been charged with dispensing online child pornography. Fifty-two of those charged were also arrested.

Federal law enforcement officials allege that over 500 participants around the world engaged with the Dreamboard, a members-only online site used to promote pedophile activities and facilitate sexual abuse of very young child, including infants. The private site encouraged members to upload videos and photos of child pornography.
