Police shoot and kill man in raid

According to Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy Lanier, police shot and killed a man during a Northwest raid in an apartment in the area of Union Station Tuesday morning. Gunshots were reported by several people around 6:30 a.m. near K Street NW, off of North Capitol Street.  A task force, including U.S. Marshals, Metro Police officers and other agencies, tracked down the suspect in a murder investigation to an apartment on K Street. When the suspect came outside, gunfire was opened on the officers and the task force responded with gunfire as well, killing the suspect.
