Arvel Crawford, 23 of D.C., was convicted this week with both first- and second-degree murder during Superior Court in Washington. He faces a life term at sentencing on May 16. Crawford fired several shots at Johnquan Wright, 18, with whom he had a dispute, according to the government’s evidence. One of the bullets went through Wright hitting Nolan Cooper, 61, a bystander, killing them both. In 2009, Crawford killed his father during an attempted robbery and is currently serving an 18-year sentence.
