D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray refused a guilty plea offer from federal prosecutors in September. Gray was offered the opportunity to plead guilty to a single felony count in connection to an ongoing investigation into his 2010 campaign. Prosecutors have allegedly re-interviewed witnesses in recent weeks in connection with the case. Insiders believe that authorities are working towards an indictment of Gray, reports the Washington Post. Six people have so far pleaded guilty in connection to the campaign. Claims include allegations that Gray was aware of a so-called “shadow campaign” to take votes away from a rival candidate.
