Nats and Cubs break out in two fights during one game

0

Last night the Cubs and Nationals broke out in two fights, the first one occurring after the Cubs bench coach argued with third base coach Bo Parter. After the Cubs bench coach was ejected, Cubs pitcher Lendy Castillo threw at the back of Bryce Harper. Both benches cleared out, with catcher Steve Clevenger holding back Harper from Castillo. The Cubs were down by over seven runs at the time of the fight.

Multiple players were ejected from the scuffle. Manual Corpas, Michael Gonzalez, Steve Clevenger and Lendy Castillo were all ejected. Castillo, a rule 5 pick who has to stay on the cubs 25 man roster for at least 90 days, might be suspended for throwing at Harper, which would put his rule 5 status in jeopardy. It’s unclear if any further suspensions will happen at this time.
