Michael Duncan passed away yesterday at the age of 54. Duncan, who was known for his award winning role in the Green Mile, died from a heart attack. He had experienced a heart attack on July 11th and was getting weekly treatments for pain. Duncan was a former bodyguard for actors Will Smith and Notorious B.I.G before starting his acting career. He made many other appearances in his career, including Talladega Nights, Armageddon, the Whole Nine Yards, and Sin City.
Tom Hanks, who starred with Duncan in the Green Mile, said in a statement “I am terribly saddened at the loss of Big Mike, he was the treasure we all discovered on the set of ‘The Green Mile,’ he was certainly magic and a big love of man his passing leaves the whole entertainment stunned.” Duncan was known for his physical stature, but he was also widely reported to be a great role model and a compassionate man.
