“The Biggest Loser” to include teens on show

NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” will come back for another season starting in January. The show will host teens for the first time ever. Trainer Jillian Michaels, known for her extreme training techniques and personality, will be back as well. NBC will try to motivate teens to combat childhood obesity by having teens on the show. The teens will not be competing for the 250,000 prize or be weighed in every week. “It’s brave, it’s bold and I’m sure it’s going to be controversial, and we’ll do the best we can to handle it in the most positive and effective way possible,” Michaels said.
Michael’s, who had been off the show for personal reasons, thinks it’s great that kids are being part of the show, saying “the goal is to focus on the kids’ health rather than their weight. It’s about getting them on the softball team, not into a size four.” A specific premier date has not been announced, but it is expected to air in early January.
