Pentagon to take legal action of Navy Seals memoir?

The Pentagon is looking to take legal action on Matt Bissonnette, a former Navy Seal who is publishing a memoir about the mission that killed Osama Bin Laden. The Pentagon says “No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission That Killed Osama Bin Laden” contains information about national security that would violate the nondisclosure agreements that Bissonette signed during his time as a Navy Seal. “When you have special operations units that perform these missions, there are tactics, techniques, and procedures, not to mention human life, that are in play,” Pentagon press secretary George Little said. “And it is the height of irresponsibility not to have this kind of material checked for the possible disclosure of classified information.”
A lawyer for Bissonnette contests that there is classified information in the book, and also contests the Pentagon’s claim that the book needed to be screened before publication. The book is number one of Amazon’s best sellers list, with over 500,000 copies preordered. It’s unclear if the the Pentagon will actually take legal action against Bissonnette. Bissonnette wrote the book under the pseudonym Mark Owen.
