British actor and writer Stephen Fry admitted to a suicide attempt while filming abroad last year. In an interview with Richard Herring, Fry noted that he took “a huge number of pills” with vodka. Fry was later found unconscious in his hotel room by his producer.
Fry said the pills he took made him convulse so much that he broke four ribs. Fry suffers from bipolar disorder, and stated during his interview that as president of a mental health charity, he wants to be open about his problems.
