Hoping to stop discrimination against the transgender community, 46-year-old Grammy-award winning singer Janet Jackson has signed on as an executive producer of a documentary on the lives of transgender people living around the world.
“Truth,” which begins production this summer, will feature Jackson, whose hits include “Let’s Wait Awhile” and “Control,” in on-camera interviews that focus on the lives and struggles of transgender persons. The theme of the film is very familiar to the film’s director Robert Jason, who previously directed a documentary for The Style Network on four transgender New Yorkers. He says “Truth” will feature stories of people from North America, Europe, Australia and Latin America.
