Comedian Tom Davis died Thursday at the age of 59. The “Saturday Night Live” writer passed away of throat and neck cancer. Davis started his comedic career as a teenager when he teamed up with comic Al Franken to form “Franken and Davis.” But Davis’ career really began to take off in 1975, when he started writing for the late-night live television sketch comedy show “Saturday Night Live.” Davis, who held that position until 2003, earned two Emmy Awards for his writing work on the show and one for “The Paul Simon Special.” The Minnesota native died at his home in Hudson, New York.
