Cissy Houston, mother of Grammy Award-winning singer and actress Whitney Houston, has a book deal with HarperCollins. Representatives for the publishing company announced that the book, a memoir, will reveal the “unabridged and unbelievable story” of her musically respected daughter, who died in a Beverly Hills, Calif., hotel bathtub in February at age 48.

According to HarperCollins, Cissy Houston’s currently untitled book will touch on her daughter’s uncommon career, whose many hits included “The Greatest Love of All” and “I Will Always Love You.” It will also remark on the star’s drug problems and marriage to Bobby Brown. Financial terms have yet to be disclosed, but a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, N.J., where Whitney Houston sang as a child and where her funeral was held.

The book is scheduled to come out next February.
