Bon Jovi refutes Twitter death rumors

After a news website mistakenly reported rocker Jon Bon Jovi had died of cardiac arrest, news of the rumor spread quickly on microblogging site Twitter. The Daily New Blog International reported the false news, which generated over 1500 mentions on Twitter. Bon Jovi moved to reassure fans that he was alive and well, tweeting a picture of himself in front of a Christmas tree and holding a sign that said “Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey – Dec. 19 2011.”

Bon Jovi also posted the image to his Facebook page, adding “Rest assured that Jon is fine! This photo was just taken.” Bon Jovi is not the first celebrity whose demise has been erroneously reported. George Clooney, Tom Hanks, The Rock and Jeff Goldblum have all been falsely offed.
