Music sensation Beyonce is teaming with the United Nations and other humanitarian aid organizations on a global campaign to motivate people everywhere to get involved. According to a news release launched Thursday, the campaign will allow people all across the globe to share their individual charitable acts. The 30-year-old “Love on Top” and “Countdown” singer said, “this is our time to leave our mark on the world.”
American songwriter Diane Warren, whose work includes LeAnn Rimes’ “How Do I Live” and Toni Braxton’s “Un-Break My Heart,” will also be participating in the campaign. Warren will donate a video of “I Was Here,” which will be filmed in the UN General Assembly Hall in New York in front of a live audience. The video will premiere Aug. 19 on World Humanitarian Day and the UN hopes it will help the campaign reach 1 billion people.
