Sunday evening, nine teenagers escaped from Abraxas Academy, a juvenile detention center in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. Local police in Berks County say that the escape happened after a riot broke out at the academy. Law enforcement has set up a perimeter around the academy as they search for the escapees.

This is the second riot to break out at Abraxas Academy since July. In a tweet, the Twin Valley School District announced the closure of all schools and offices “out of an abundance of caution” as the district is around five miles away from the academy. Berks County is about a 45-minute drive from Chester County, which is where Danelo Cavalcante, a convicted murderer, escaped and provoked a 14-day manhunt for his arrest.
