President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, was indicted on Thursday on three felony gun charges, which comes after an attempt to take a plea deal to avoid a criminal trial fell through. Biden is accused of making false statements on the ATF form regarding his drug use when he purchased a firearm in October 2018.

The other two charges include lying to a federally licensed gun dealer and illegally possessing a firearm while using drugs or being addicted to drugs. Biden is the first child of a sitting president in U.S. history to face criminal charges, and if convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 25 years in prison. These charges come as President Biden has had an impeachment inquiry placed against him by House Republicans and as he gears up for reelection in 2024.
