North Korea has agreed to South Korea’s proposal to reunite families who were divided during the 1950-1953 Korean War. The families will be reunited during the Chuseok harvest festival on September 19 according to KCNA, a North Korean news agency. Tensions surrounding North Korea have increased recently after a long-range rocket launch and an underground nuclear test occurred in December and February respectively.

KCNA also reported North and South Korea agreed to discuss restarting tours at Mount Kumgang which involve crossing the border. They will also reopen the Kaesong Industrial Zone.
