Despite an extension of a deadline for the town’s surrender, Libyan rebels in Tripoli continue to advance toward the home town of Moammar Gadhafi. “We won’t surrender again; we are not women. We will keep fighting,” Gadhafi said during a heated broadcast from his hiding place.
According to U.N. officials Libya faces immediate short-term food shortages among other supplies. “This country has a lot of resources and we view the humanitarian needs as short-term,” U.N. humanitarian coordinator for Libya, Panos Moumtzis said.
