Ex-FBI agent resurfaces in proof-of-life video

Four years after going missing in Iran, former FBI agent Robert Levinson resurfaced in a proof-of-life video sent to Levinson’s wife, Christine. Levinson disappeared in March 2007 while working as a private investigator in Kish Island, in the Persian Gulf. Levinson pleaded in the video for U.S. help to win his release. In the video, he only refers vaguely to the “group” that has held him hostage.

The State Department for years has requested the Iranian government’s help in finding Levinson. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said his government does not know Levinson’s whereabouts. Levinson suffers from diabetes, and appeared to be in poor health in the video released.
