On Tuesday, Simon Harris was elected Ireland’s prime minister following a vote in parliament. Harris is the country’s youngest leader in history at age 37.

Harris said, “I commit to doing everything that I can honor the trust that you have placed in me today.” He continued, “As Taoiseach, I want to bring new ideas, a new energy, and a new empathy to public life.”
