Wendel Palmer, a 23-year veteran of the DC Police force, was arrested Wednesday and charged with child abuse. The abuse allegedly occurred when the accuser was a minor, and although the exact nature of the abuse is not yet clear, Palmer was charged with first-degree child sexual abuse. He has been placed on paid leave until a verdict can be determined in the case.
