Drivers in DC are being warned of traffic and road closures in NW Friday morning. President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will be at the National Cathedral Friday morning to pay tribute to Democratic Sen. Daniel Inouye, who passed away this week at the age of 88. He was the second longest serving senator in US history, known for his hard work, and for bringing money to Hawaii for roads and other infrastructure projects. He became the first congressman from Hawaii in 1959 after gaining statehood, and soon became senator. Inouye was the first Japanese-American to serve in both houses. He earned the Medal of Honor for his service in World War II, and played key roles in major political events of the second half of the 20th century. After services in DC today, his body will be brought to Hawaii for burial.
