“Hazardous device” disabled in College Park

Officials with the fire department in College Park, Maryland report that they responded to a hazardous device early Friday morning. Spokesperson Mark Brady says that a bomb squad neutralized that device which was located in the 5000 block of Edgewood Rd., about a mile from the University of Maryland campus. No details have been released regarding motive, the type of device, or whether a threat at been called in addition. Brady says that the FBI and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are helping in the investigation which remains open. The location of the device are still being considered a active crime scene.
