Reta Jo Lewis announces candidacy for mayor

Reta Jo Lewis, an attorney who has worked for the Obama and Clinton administration, has announced her candidacy for mayor of the District of Columbia.

Lewis made the announcement on Tuesday on her campaign website as well as on Facebook and Twitter. This will be her first bid for an elective office in the city.

Lewis has served as a special representative for global intergovernmental affairs under Hillary Clinton. She also worked as an administrative assistant in President Bill Clinton’s administration. She has lived in Washington for 35 years.

Lewis is the fourth declared candidate for the mayor position. She joins D.C. Councilmembers Muriel Bowser, Jack Evans and Tommy Wells.
