First lady Michelle Obama threatened to leave a fundraising event if a protester did not stop interrupting her speech. Mrs. Obama was speaking on Tuesday evening at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser located at the residence of Karen Nixon and Nan Schaffer in NW Washington.
According to a reporter attending the event, a member of the audience began shouting in support of an executive order on gay rights halfway through Mrs. Obama’s speech. Mrs. Obama proceeded to move toward the protestor and stated the person would either, “listen to me or you can take the mic, but I’m leaving.”
The crowed shouted for Mrs. Obama to stay and the protester was escorted out of the event.
