President Obama to address students regarding higher education

0

President Barack Obama will emphasize the importance of affordable higher education on Friday in Virginia, a swing state which is essential to his re-election hopes. The president will address students and parents at an Arlington high school about his efforts to prevent interest rates on federal subsidized student loans from doubling on July 1.

President Obama will hold a morning round-table discussion with a group of senior high school students and their parents. He will then speak to a larger group of parents, juniors, and seniors about the importance of having an equal shot at an affordable higher education and the skill needed to find a decent job in this economy. In the afternoon, President Obama will welcome members of the University of Kentucky men’s basketball team to the White House to celebrate their 2012 NCAA Championship.
