DC’s Godfather of Go-Go, Chuck Brown, will be honored with a 900-seat open air amphitheater at Langdon Park in NE that will open for the 2013 summer. Major Vincent Gray signed off on the project Thursday. The Chuck Brown Music Pavilion will feature a tower listing every recorded song of his in chronological order, and will be surrounded by magnolia and cherry trees. Gray says that he hopes the dedication will help preserve Brown’s legacy to DC music for generations to come.
