Man convicted of stabbing fellow Marine

A Marine has been convicted of manslaughter after fatally stabbing a fellow Marine near the barracks.

The attack took place on April 24, 2012.  The victim, 24-year-old Philip Bushong was a lance corporal stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Twenty-two-year-old Michael Poth stabbed Bushong in the chest with a pocket knife during an altercation on Washington Street.

The two Marines did not know one another.

Poth was convicted Monday in Superior Court and could face up to 60 years in prison at his February 7 sentencing.
