A Georgetown University alumnus is generously donating $10 million to the school to launch a new center focused solely on global real estate. Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business announced the gift on Thursday from Robert Steers, CEO of the global investment manager Cohen and Steers in New York City, and his spouse Lauren Steers. The gift will be used to build the Steers Center for Global Real Estate to provide practical experience and an increasingly global focus. The center will also offer career planning services for students and opportunities for consulting projects. The business school stated that they have developed a challenging curriculum that allows MBA students and undergraduates to combine classroom learning with practical, real-world experience. The students will be taking on various real estate projects and underwriting live real estate transactions.
