Exhibit on dog fighting opens in DC museum

One of D.C.’s newest attractions for locals and tourists alike, the D.C. Museum of Crime and Punishment is debuting an exhibit on the deplorable act of dog fighting. Although illegal throughout the country, dog fighting rings continue to plague law enforcement and animal rights activists. The new exhibit is called Dog Fighting: The Voiceless Victims and is sponsored by the ASPCA. Museum officials have said that the displays are family-appropriate because of the large number of children who visit the museum, but still show the brutality associated with dog fighting. On display are some of the weapons used in dog fighting, and a pit bull skull discovered on a raid. Those involved with the exhibit hope that it makes a lasting impression on people and will help garner energy for the cause against dog fighting.
