Dozens of Occupy D.C. protesters arrested

Police and protesters faced off at McPherson Square Sunday over a wooden structure that protesters had built. The barnlike structure was erected Saturday night, which Park Police said was in violation of park rules. A notice was posted to have it dismantled. When protesters failed to meet the deadline, officers moved in.

An airbag, armored truck and cherry picker were brought in to assist in the arrest of protesters who would not comply. The cherry picker was used to remove protesters from the roof of the structure. 31 people were arrested over the course of the day. By Monday morning the structure was completely dismantled.
