D.C. resident attacked by raccoon

A District of Columbia homeowner was attacked by a raccoon in the Shepherd Park neighborhood Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred while Lamar Revis was taking out his recycling bin near Primerose Road and NW 16th Street.

Revis said, “I saw the raccoon walking toward me, and I looked away, and then when I looked back, he was charging me.”

He was able to fend off the attack with his recycling bin and escaped with no injuries.

Revis called animal control following the attack.
