A Nelson County jury found 48-year-old Randy Taylor guilty of first degree murder in the commission of an abduction and abduction with intent to defile. Taylor earlier pleaded not-guilty to the murder of 17-year-old Alexis Murphy; Murphy went missing on August 3, 2014, her body is still missing. Even without the body, the evidence piled up against Taylor: hair, a human fingernail, eyelash extensions and a blood soaked t-shirt were found in Taylor’s camper, a mile north of the Liberty gas station where Murphy was last seen—talking to Taylor. Her cell phone was found smashed, and within 100 feet of the camper. Taylor faces a maximum of life in prison, and a minimum of 40 years in prison. The sentencing date has been set for July 23, 2014.
