Leesburg’s The Beer Joint files for bankruptcy

0

The Beer Joint Brewing Leesburg, LLC filed a Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition January 13. The petition cited debts of between $100,000 and $500,000 and assets of less than $50,000. The Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition seeks to liquidate the corporate entity rather than the reorganization that is the end goal of Chapter 11 filings. Debtors listed in the filing include utilities such as: Dominion Virginia Power and Washington Gas as well as the Virginia Department of Taxation. The restaurant also owes federal and state payroll taxes as well as Leesburg meals taxes. The restaurant was renamed The Beer Joint in September 2014 after eight years as Vintage 50. The change ultimately shifted The Beer Joint to a bar-focused spot. Attempts to contact Beer Joint owner Anthony Cavallo and his attorney, Joseph Langone, were not successful.
