Fans angry over replacement refs

The sports community is complaining greatly after last’s night missed call that awarded the game to the wrong team Monday night. Seattle was down by five points with nine seconds to go against Green Bay. On the last play of the game an interception was ruled a touchdown by officials, giving the game to the Seahawks instead of the Packers. One official signaled an interception, while the other signaled a touchdown. Reviews cannot be made for simultaneous possession. It looked as if the Packers defender caught the ball first, and Seahawks’ receiver Golden Tate tried to rip the ball out while on the ground.

“Very hard to swallow,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. “I have never seen anything like that in my time in football.” Many Packers fans tweeted their displeasure. There has been an increase in rough hits because of the lax way the games are being called. “Nature says for us that we’re going to go out there and push the limit regardless,” Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway said. “If they’re calling a game tight, if they’re calling a game loose, it’s going to be pushed to the limit. You are pushing it to the brink. If things are going to be called easier, and in some situations I feel like they’ve been less lenient, too, you’ve just got to play and see how (it’s being called).”
