In the statement, he thanked fans for their support, explaining that while he could continue playing, “I’m not sure I could bring a level of performance or passion that’s up to my standards.”

Urlacher is considered one of the best players on the football field. During his time in the NFL, he made 1,353 combined tackles, 41.5 sacks, 12 forced fumbles, 22 interceptions and two defensive touchdowns.
